Meet the Team


Ben Buchanan


Ben has a strong and varied background in electronics and electrical engineering.  He has worked as a systems engineer developing and analysing systems across a wide range of industries working for many companies such as Intel, Barclays, Shell, London Underground, Adidas, Thales, Bombardier, Samsung, Network Rail and Crossrail. Ben has worked around the globe, in London, throughout Europe, Canada and the Middle East. He has also been a lecturer through Liverpool John Moores University, speaking on the subject of identification and analysis of potential hazards in electrical and electronic systems.


Ben is a registered competent electrical engineer through NAPIT.


Angus Thomson


Angus has over 14 years of experience in Electronic Systems Engineering in a variety of industries, from Oil & Gas to Defense, Consumer electronics and others. His proven expertise in product development from conception through to mass production has helped companies take early concepts through to prototyping, development, certification and production, resulting in award-winning products sold worldwide. He has led teams of multi-disciplined engineers to successfully deliver complex electro-mechanical systems to a high standard within challenging timescales.


Liam Bassett

Liam is a multi-skilled technician with over 30 years experience working on academic and commercial projects. Liam’s company Electec Designs Limited enables academic and research solutions through effective and practical technology. Recent projects include bespoke drone payloads, wind tunnel design and construction as well as camera systems for use in child development studies.
